Between May 21, 2010, and May 20, 2013, the couple reportedly kept the mobile home, located at Satellite Mobile Homes Estate, unsanitary and uninhabitable for the two girls, ages 5 and 10. Conditions included: kitchen appliances covered in mold and cobwebs; stacks of trash, debris, mold, and feces throughout the home; a pile of used condoms under a stuffed teddy bear; and inoperable toilets.

After a call from a neighbor on May 20, 2013, an officer from the Anaheim Police Department went to the home to conduct a welfare check and found the victims with dirt crusted on their feet, matted hair and damaged teeth beyond repair.

Sex-abuse investigations rip open Catholic Church’s secret files – latimes.com.

After the files became known to prosecutors and plaintiff‘s lawyers, the American justice system has pried open the doors to an archive long kept sealed. Thousands of additional pages are set to become public in coming months, as more than a dozen Catholic orders — Salesians, Claretians, Vincentians and others — prepare to bare their own secrets pursuant to agreements with victims. L.A. County Superior Court Judge Emilie Elias could set the date for their release at a hearing Tuesday.

For some, the revelations were damning. For others, they offered validation for dark, private memories.

The files were never meant to go beyond church walls.

The earliest mention of the secret archives in church history dates to the 1700s, in an edict on marriage issued by Pope Benedict XIV. The archives were to bear witness to “marriages of conscience” — unions that may be banned under civil law or otherwise scandalous, but celebrated by a priest in secrecy.

In the 20th century, when church law regulating the archives were written, Canon 489 prescribed that there was to be “a safe or cabinet, completely closed and locked, which cannot be removed” to which only the bishop would hold the key.

Safeguarding the files was not taken lightly. One scholar suggested in 1954 that files could be kept in “modern safes” that could “withstand concentrated burglarious attacks by drills, sledge hammers, wedges and mechanical tools.”

Over time, the files came to hold information about priests’ alcohol problems, squabbles over parish funds, clerics who had impregnated parishioners. By the 1970s and ’80s, church leaders found themselves increasingly documenting in the files whispers of a more disturbing sort: sexual abuse of children at the hands of priests.

The Biggest “Takers” and Societal Parasites Are the Rich, Not the Working Class and Poor

The Biggest “Takers” and Societal Parasites Are the Rich, Not the Working Class and Poor.

Corporations Stopped Paying

In the past twenty years, corporate profits have quadrupled while the corporate tax percent has dropped by half. The payroll tax, paid by workers, has doubled.

In effect, corporations have decided to let middle-class workers pay for national investments that have largely benefited businesses over the years. The greater part of basic research, especially for technology and health care, has been conducted with government money. Even today 60% of university research is government-supported. Corporations use highways and shipping lanes and airports to ship their products, the FAA and TSA and Coast Guard and Department of Transportation to safeguard them, a nationwide energy grid to power their factories, and communications towers and satellites to conduct online business.

Yet as corporate profits surge and taxes plummet, our infrastructure is deteriorating. TheAmerican Society of Civil Engineers estimates that $3.63 trillion is needed over the next seven years to make the necessary repairs.

Tea Party Nation Claims John McCain Is An ‘Illegal Immigrant’ (Video) – Americans Against the Tea Party.

An illegal immigrant can be described as someone who sneaks into another country.  That is a fair definition, even if they do not stay long.

One illegal immigrant has done massive damage to America.

Who is this illegal immigrant and what did he do to damage America?

The illegal immigrant is John McCain.

McCain sneaked into Syria yesterday and met with the so-called Syrian rebels.   McCain spent Memorial Day, the day we honor America’s fallen heroes, meeting with a group who hates America and Americans.

Watch John McCain defend his use of the phrase “illegal immigrants.”  We wonder how he feels about the term now that he is one?

CHILD SEX ABUSE: New law exempts statute of limitations – KMSP-TV.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) –

Minnesota may be on the verge of a big game change when it comes to lawsuits brought forward by those who were sexually abused as children thanks to a recent exemption to the statute of limitations.

“Give this kid and his family a trial,” urged attorney Jeff Anderson.

From his ornate office in St. Paul, Anderson has been taking on the nation’s most-respected institutions over allegations of sexual abuse of children. On Tuesday, he was focused on the Boy Scouts of America.

Anderson is currently trying to convince a judge that the Boy Scouts should be held civilly liable for Peter Stibal, who is serving 14 years in prison for molesting boys. Anderson discovered the organization even kept a file on Stibal and 1,400 other scout leaders — the so-called “perversion files.”

“They clearly had red flags that Stibal was an offender before he abused this child,” Anderson said.

The privately-owned gun fell out of its holster and underneath the vehicle, however, and fired once as the man attempted to retrieve it. The discharged bullet hit the leg of a vehicle passenger — the man’s mother — who then had to be transported to George Washington University Hospital with a non-life threatening injury. Nobody else was injured.

Visitors are prohibited from bringing a gun to the cemetery, according to JBMHH spokeswoman Sharon Walker.

“Weapons of any type are not authorized on military installations or reservations such as [Arlington National Cemetery],” said Walker. “Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Police and Arlington National Cemetery security personnel responded to the call.”

In 2008, 66 year old Baerbel Roznowski sought a protection order to keep herself safe from her estranged boyfriend, Chan Kim, who had a history of violence. A court issued the order, which said that Kim must stay away from Roznowski and her home and stop contacting her. The order included instructions for law enforcement explaining that Kim did not speak English well and would need an interpreter to fully understand what was happening, and that Kim would likely react violently against Roznowski when he received news that they would be separated. Unfortunately, the police officer who brought the order to Kim didn’t bother to read these instructions. He gave the order to him at Roznowski’s home, did not bring an interpreter, and left them together without ensuring that they were safely separated. Just hours later, Baerbel Roznowski was dead. Her boyfriend had stabbed her 18 times, murdering her in her own home. read more…
