L. Ron (Lafayette Ronald) Hubbard (1911-1986 if you believe he is dead)… science fiction writer turned founder and cult leader of scientology. He also claimed he was a physicist but only took one year and received an F. In the US Navy, he was found to be “unsatisfactory for any assignment” and “not temperamentally fitted for independent command”.
If you are still a belieber… there’s Xenu, the alien ruler of the ‘galactic confederacy’ who brought millions of people to earth on DC-8-style space/aircraft… lined them up around volcanos and blew them to smitherines with hydrogen bombs. It is also claimed that their souls turned into space and body invaders clinging to the living and wreaking havoc and chaos in today’s world.
Almost sounds like the late great joseph smith who had the “the book of mormon – another testament of jesus christ dictated to him in a field by aliens from another planet… and… jesus is not dead. He lives on a planet somewhere outside our solar system… but in the 1800’s joseph smith didn’t know there was an end to our solar system.
Some people will just believe anything. I’m just sayin.
